Company Registration Fees in Laos

The official government fees by legal form, the registered capital fee brackets, and worked examples.

QUICK ANSWER

Official fees for registering a company in Laos have two parts. The registration fee is 40,000 to 100,000 kip, depending on the legal form. A registered capital fee of 0 to 6,000,000 kip is added based on capital size, under Presidential Ordinance 002/PO of 17 June 2021. For example, a sole company limited with 500 million kip of capital pays 1,080,000 kip in these two government fees.

What These Fees Exclude

These are registrar charges only. A real setup budget may also include:

  • Operating license fees, which vary by activity. Use the license directory.
  • An investment license, where the activity is controlled. See Controlled Business in Laos.
  • Notarization, translation and legalization of foreign documents.
  • Professional fees, tax registration costs and an office address.

Registered capital also affects more than this fee. Some sectors set capital thresholds of their own, such as wholesale and retail trade.
